Use an Advocate Leaderboard to compare advocates by the online gifts or dollars attributed to them, or list them alphabetically. Go to Campaign Settings → Motivation & Sharing → Leaderboards → Manage Custom Leaderboards → Add Leaderboard and choose Advocate as the type. This requires the new advocacy experience and custom leaderboards; it is not available in legacy advocacy or on block-based campaign pages.
Which advocates should appear?
Use All Active Advocates, if available, to automatically update the list as advocates become active or are dismissed. Use Select Advocates for a fixed competition group. For manual selection, click Add Rows, select people, click Save Rows, then Save Leaderboard. Use Include advocates with no recorded activity to find inactive participants. Select All adds only the currently displayed, filtered options and does not add future advocates. Dismissed advocates do not appear publicly.
How are advocates ranked?
Choose Row Sort Order to rank by dollars or gift count, ascending or descending. Row Display Name sorts alphabetically. The builder currently labels the count options Donor Count, but the public Advocate Leaderboard displays Gifts and counts attributed gifts, not unique donors. Multiple gifts from one donor can count separately.
The dollars and gifts match the campaign's Advocates section's attributed-gift totals. They are not simply the advocate's own donations or the combined total of attributed gifts, matches, and challenges. Offline gifts are excluded. Advocate Leaderboards do not support personal goals, percentage-to-goal rankings, click rankings, or hiding dollar amounts. Define your competition and prize rules separately; publishing a leaderboard does not automatically adjudicate prizes.
Can I hide the standings until the competition ends?
Yes. Save Leaderboard, then Publish when ready. You can Unpublish and republish at any time, including after the campaign ends. Qualifying gifts still count while unpublished. There is no private backend preview of unpublished standings; the leaderboard can only be viewed on the public campaign page when published. Publishing it to check results makes it visible to visitors.
On live campaigns, allow about 5–6 minutes for new attributed gifts to appear and about a minute for saved display changes. Larger changes may take longer, and completed campaign pages can take up to 24 hours to refresh. Allow the results to refresh before reconciling final standings.
Names link to published, publicly available Advocate Pages; advocates without a public page can still appear as plain text. If a published board is missing, check the Custom Leaderboards display selection and the Donors section's visibility under Campaign Setup → Images & Display → Page Layout.
