Raiser's Edge NXT Integration - Initial Setup and Configuration

Have you recently added our RE NXT integration to your GiveCampus lineup? Here's how to connect the two systems. If you're interested in learning more about the NXT integration, reach out to your Partner Success Manager for details on how to add this to your contract. 

Connecting Your Account
 

We have created a data integration with Raiser's Edge NXT that allows data to sync with GiveCampus regularly. This allows parts of your data, like Constituent Identifiers, to be synced without having to upload csv or other files. If you would like to enable this integration capability for your account, please reach out to your partner success manager to talk about enabling it for set up processes.

Connect the GiveCampus application in the Blackbaud Marketplace

Go to your Raiser's Edge Marketplace:

Click the Manage tab and then click the button to Connect app

In the dialog, enter 5652bb21-d912-4d6f-81fe-85df03b08f3a for the Application ID, then click Connect.

You're now done with the Blackbaud side!

Connect Blackbaud to the GiveCampus application

Now we need to connect your accounts from the GiveCampus side. Have someone with School Dashboard permissions to navigate to the Integrations > Blackbaud RE NXT tab. If you don't see the Raiser's Edge NXT settings in GiveCampus you may not have the required add on for your GiveCampus account. Please contact your Partner Success Manager for more details). Here you will be prompted to connect your account. If you had previously connected, you will see connection information already displayed here and the ability to disconnect your account.

Once you choose to connect, you'll get a pop-up dialog, click Authorize

And you're done!  Your data should flow now!

Setting up Your Configurations

Once you have authorized the connection between Raiser's Edge NXT and GiveCampus, you will see all of the various configuration options you can set for various integrations and choose to enable / disable pieces of the integration for what best fits your needs.

Enable / Disable Specific Integration Points

There are three pieces that can be enabled / disabled in the GiveCampus integration with Raiser's Edge NXT.

FAQ — Verify the integration is running

Q: I enabled the RE NXT integration yesterday. How can I confirm the constituent import ran?

A: In your GiveCampus admin, go to School Dashboard > Integrations > Blackbaud RE NXT and open the Import Configuration tab. The constituent import runs nightly. The first import will occur the night following activation, with data syncing by the next day.

FAQ — Can I enable Events export without enabling Gift export?

Q: We plan to export event registrations to RE NXT later. Do we need to enable Gift export now, or can Events export be enabled on its own?

A: Each sync option is independent:

• Basic Constituent Data (Import Configuration tab) — imports constituent identifiers from RE NXT into GiveCampus.
• Export Daily Gift Data (Export Configuration tab) — exports online gifts from GiveCampus to RE NXT in daily batches.
• Export Event Data (Export Configuration tab) — exports event registrations from GiveCampus to RE NXT.

You can enable Export Event Data at any time after the initial connection, regardless of the status of Export Daily Gift Data.

1. Enabling the Gifts Integration will start the daily export of all gifts that were made on the GiveCampus platform into RE NXT. More information on this integration and how it works can be found here. 

2. Enabling the Constituents Integration will start importing data from RE NXT into the GiveCampus platform to optimize matching online gifts to your constituents. More information on this integration can be found here.

3. Enabling the Events Integration will enable you to export event information and registrations to RE NXT. More information on this integration can be found here.

Adjust Settings

At a high level, you will need to tell us what type of "ID" you are using to distinguish constituents in the GiveCampus platform if you have or ever plan to utilize the School Level Data Importer to supplement and add additional data about constituents in the GiveCampus platform. There are two options for what RE NXT ID you could be using. This is a required setting for the integration overall that is important for all other integration points and once you have set this, you will need to request help from GC support to adjust it after the fact. We generally recommend using the Lookup ID will be automatically selected and you should use this if you are using the ID that is visible within RE NXT web view listed as "ID" 

System ID is the other option and should be used if you are using the ID that can only be found in the Database view in RE NXT. This can also be found in the URL of the web base view of a specific constituent.

For gifts that need to be reviewed before they are exported, the ID that you select during this initial setup will be the one we expect you to enter into the UI.

FAQ — integration link missing in GiveCampus despite RE NXT add-on

Q: We recently added the Raiser's Edge NXT integration to our GiveCampus contract, but there is no Blackbaud RE NXT option under School Dashboard > Integrations. Why is the connection option missing?

A: Two steps must be completed before the connection UI appears in your admin:

• Your Partner Success Manager must add the RE NXT integration to your contract. This commercial step confirms your school’s intent to use the integration but doesn’t automatically expose it in the admin.
• GiveCampus must activate the integration on the platform. The Blackbaud RE NXT link appears only after activation. Until then, the link—and sometimes the entire Integrations item—will be hidden.

If the menu item is missing:

1. Confirm that your contract or add-on was completed with your Partner Success Manager.
2. If the add-on is in place but the School Dashboard > Integrations > Blackbaud RE NXT path is still absent, ask your Partner Success Manager to initiate the platform activation.

After activation, you will see:

• The Integrations section appears in the School Dashboard sidebar (this section remains hidden until at least one integration is enabled).
• The navigation path School Dashboard > Integrations > Blackbaud RE NXT becomes accessible. You can then follow the standard connection steps (connect the app in the Blackbaud Marketplace, then authorize from GiveCampus).

Quick checklist:

• Contract add-on completed with your Partner Success Manager.
• Platform activation of the RE NXT integration by GiveCampus.
• Once enabled, proceed with the Blackbaud Marketplace and GiveCampus authorization steps as described in this article.
