Can a Giving Form accept a discount or promo code?

No. Standard Giving Forms collect gifts and do not have an event-style promo-code field that discounts the amount due. Adding a custom text question called “Promo Code” only collects an answer; it does not calculate or apply a discount to the gift.

Promotion codes are an Events feature for eligible registration charges. If you are selling event tickets, use the event's registration and promotion-code settings. A Giving Form linked to an event remains a giving experience; linking it does not add event promotion-code behavior to the form.

For a giving appeal with different suggested amounts, configure the form's ask amounts or use the supported autofill-link tool to prefill a donation amount. These set or suggest a gift amount; they are not coupon redemption or discount tracking.
