Auction revenue in the Gifts and Events APIs

Auction winning-bid payments are not included in the standard public Gifts or Events/Registrations API responses. An auction being attached to an event does not make its winning-bid payments ordinary registration payments or online gifts in those responses.

Use auction reporting to reconcile this revenue. For deposited auction payments, open Online Giving → Reporting → Deposit-Based Reports, locate the deposit containing auction payments, and choose Event Auctions Deposit Report → Download Event Auctions Report. The auction deposit report is separate from Event Registration Deposit Report and donation reports.

For item results and payment follow-up, open Events → Events → select the event → Auction → Closeouts or Checkouts, depending on the auction's stage. Review auction payment status before treating an award or winning bid as collected revenue.

A separate optional donation made during registration is a different payment type and follows its applicable gift workflow.
