GiveCampus does not have one preference that turns off every email. Identify whether the email is an administrator alert, a donor receipt or payment message, a campaign update, or an email from another product before changing a setting. A role controls access; an email subscription controls only the messages that use that subscription.
Where do I manage administrator subscriptions?
An administrator with permission to manage notifications can go to Online Giving → Administrators → Notifications. Find the colleague's row and check or clear the relevant checkbox. These checkbox changes save when changed. Columns depend on the school's products and available features.
Gift Notifications: Controls the schoolwide subscription to new-gift alerts. Campaign/form recipient selections are additional subscriptions, not exclusions. Clearing the school checkbox does not remove a person from an individual campaign/form recipient list, and removing someone from one form does not cancel their schoolwide subscription.
Deposit Notifications: Controls eligible administrator deposit notices. It is separate from new-gift alerts and is also used by some financial/integration notices, including certain NXT-related notices. Do not describe it as a deposit-only switch or a donor-receipt setting.
Recurring Subscriptions and Pledges: Controls eligible staff recurring-gift and pledge notices. These include payment and subscription-update workflows. Some paths also include campaign/form recipients, so check those lists when stopping alerts. There is no separate staff subscription for non-payment edits only.
Personal Videos: Controls subscribed administrators' personal-video submission/approval alerts. The campaign creator is also included in the approval notification, independently of this checkbox. Clearing the creator's checkbox does not guarantee they will stop receiving approval messages.
Campaign Submission Notifications: Controls main-campaign requests to publish for administrators who can launch that campaign, and new idea submissions for administrators who can manage ideas. Turning this off affects both workflows. It does not control tiered landing page requests to publish.
New Text Message Notifications: Where texting is available, controls eligible administrator alerts for unread incoming text messages and opt-outs. Unread-message checks are queued after approximately five minutes; a message already read can be skipped. Gift Officer conversations have their own notification path. This is an email alert about texting, not a subscription to Outreach marketing emails.
Smart Appeal Notifications: Where available, controls eligible administrators' Smart Appeal summary emails. A summary is not sent when there is nothing to report. This does not turn donor-facing appeals on or off.
Data Import Notifications: Where available, controls configured data-import success and failure notices. It is not limited to failures and is not a universal switch for every importer or integration email. Volunteer Management has a separate import notification control.
GC Connect Access, 2FA Enabled, job types, and SAML identifiers are not email subscriptions, even if shown on the same page. Do not change them to stop email.
Can I receive gift alerts for only one campaign or giving form?
Yes. Review the person's schoolwide Gift Notifications subscription, then select them only in the intended campaign/form's Notifications recipient settings and save. To stop alerts, review both the broad subscription and each explicit recipient list. Additional recipients need a confirmed GiveCampus account using the entered email address. Receiving an email does not grant permission to open the linked gift.
There is no standard per-recipient minimum-dollar filter in ordinary gift notification settings. Disputed/charged-back gift notices use the gift-notification recipient path, so there is no separate chargeback-only subscription or priority control in those settings. Staff alerts are separate from donor receipts; do not change a donor's email address to send staff copies.
Which administrator alerts cannot be turned off separately?
Tiered landing page requests to publish: No separate opt-out. Eligible administrators with permission to publish the specific page receive the request. The Campaign Submission Notifications checkbox does not suppress it. An Advanced Campaign Admin receives it when their permissions include publishing that page. Do not remove publishing access just to stop emails; a mailbox rule can organize them without changing permissions.
Advocate incentive earned alerts: Campaign administrators with access to that campaign receive incentive alerts. These cannot currently be disabled or unsubscribed from separately. Gift Notifications and personal account preferences do not control them. The alert is for administrators; do not promise that the advocate receives an incentive-earned email.
Personal-video approval notice to the campaign creator: The creator is an additional recipient independent of the Personal Videos subscription. There is no separate creator-only opt-out in that checkbox.
Recurring subscription edits only: There is no preference to receive subscription edits while suppressing installment notices. Disabling the recurring subscription may remove both categories; explicit campaign/form recipients can still receive messages through supported workflows. Use mailbox rules if the goal is sorting rather than changing subscriptions.
Do not recommend a universal unsubscribe link for these alerts. If a partner asks about an unfamiliar message, confirm its subject and workflow instead of assuming it uses one of the listed checkboxes.
Do template settings control whether an email is sent?
Recipient subscriptions, email content, and message triggers are different controls. The administrator Notification Email Templates area edits available staff-email content. Campaign/form email templates edit supported donor-facing messages. Neither is a universal mute switch.
Do not delete, deactivate, or blank a template to suppress an email unless that specific workflow supports it. For example, a Recurring Gift Ended notification can use standard fallback content when no custom template is found. Annual recurring-gift reminders use an active reminder template; ask Support to confirm the available deactivation workflow for the particular campaign/form. These are not equivalent behaviors.
Do not use donor receipt settings to quiet an administrator's inbox, and do not assume that campaign-update or Outreach unsubscribes disable receipts, payment messages, security emails, or administrative approval alerts.
Why am I still receiving emails, or why did a colleague stop receiving them?
Check the exact subject, school, campaign/form and recipient email. Review both schoolwide and record-specific subscriptions, the person's relevant permissions, and their confirmed account. Check spam/quarantine and allow time for delivery. If the settings look correct, give Support the subject, date/time, recipient, and relevant campaign/form so they can inspect the actual notification and delivery result. A checked box does not prove a message was delivered.
