Launching a campaign for early giving does not freeze its setup. Administrators with the appropriate permissions can continue editing content, adding funds, and creating or updating tiered landing pages after launch. You do not need to return an active campaign to Draft for ordinary content, form, or goal edits.
Changes can affect the live donor experience as soon as they are saved or published. The available menus depend on your campaign’s interface and your permissions.
Can I change campaign content, images, videos, and page layout?
Yes. You can update campaign text, images, video, custom content, sharing content, and section visibility or order after launch.
For the classic campaign interface, use Campaign Settings → Campaign Setup → Basics and Images & Display. In Images & Display → Page Layout, use the eye icon to show or hide sections and drag sections to reorder them. If your campaign uses Page Builder, edit and save the relevant page content there.
Preview the public campaign page after saving. A campaign image can hide the campaign video; use Custom video thumbnail for an image intended to be the video thumbnail.
Can I add funds or designations after launch?
Yes. Add the funds in Giving Experience → Form Settings & Display → Designation Configuration or the campaign’s designation-management screen. You can also adjust the available designation choices, display order, and featured choices.
Make sure the Designation field is included in Form Builder. Adding a designation in settings alone does not apply it to a gift. For a single designation that must apply to all gifts, mark it pre-selected in Designation Configuration, add the Designation field to the form, and mark the field required.
Adding a new fund does not automatically reassign earlier gifts to it. Review any tiered-page or leaderboard rules that should include the new fund. Removing a designation can be restricted when it is used by other campaign features; adding funds and deleting existing funds are different actions.
Can I add or edit tiered landing pages after launch?
Yes, where tiered landing pages are available for your campaign. Open Tiered Landing Pages to create or edit Tier 2 and Tier 3 pages, update content and goals, and configure which gifts count on each page. Publish newly created pages when they are ready; launching the main campaign does not automatically publish every child page. A Tier 3 page needs its Tier 2 parent published before it can be published.
Keep these structure limits in mind:
- An existing independent campaign cannot simply be converted into a child tier page with its gifts and history. Create a tier page under the intended parent campaign.
- A Tier 2 page cannot simply be switched to Tier 3, or vice versa; create a new page at the desired level.
- For an existing Tier 3 page, you can change Parent Tier 2 Landing Page in its editor to another eligible Tier 2 page within the same campaign. Changing the parent returns the Tier 3 page to Draft. Check its Relevant Gifts settings, publish it again, and verify its public URL before sharing it.
- Changing Relevant Gifts can change which gifts and totals appear on a tier page. Tier 3 rules must remain compatible with their Tier 2 parent. Review the displayed totals after a change.
Can I change the campaign name after launch?
Yes—but changing the campaign name changes its name-based public URL. A permalink is the name-based part of the campaign’s page address, such as giving-day-2026 in the long campaign URL.
In the classic interface, go to Campaign Settings → Campaign Setup → Basics, acknowledge the campaign-name/URL warning, edit the name, and click Update Campaign. In the newer Details interface, use Basics and save the name change.
- Previously shared long links containing the old campaign name will no longer work after the URL changes. This also affects long tier-page links that include the main campaign’s name in their path.
- Update long links on your website, in scheduled messages, in external redirects, and in QR codes that directly encode the old long URL.
- GiveCampus short sharing links such as
https://www.givecampus.com/s/UNIQUE-IDkeep the same short address and are updated to point to the renamed campaign. Test a sample short link after saving.
Choose the final campaign name before distributing long links when possible. Updating the campaign name does not rewrite text or links that you manually entered in other content.
Can I change the fundraising goal or end date?
Yes. You can edit the goal amount and choose a donor or dollar goal in Campaign Setup → Basics, or Details → Basics in the newer interface. Review the public progress display and update any written goal references.
For an active campaign, change End date in Campaign Setup → Basics, or Details → Dates, and save before the existing end date arrives. If the campaign has already ended, use the reopening guidance instead of assuming an ordinary date edit will restart giving.
Changing a planned soft-launch or launch date is separate from changing the end date and does not itself reopen a completed campaign. A Pre-Launch Page also has its own display and early-giving settings.
Can I change the giving form, confirmations, or add updates?
Yes. Use Giving Experience → Form Builder for supported form-field changes and Gift Confirmation Emails for confirmation content. You can also post or schedule campaign updates after launch.
Form changes affect what subsequent donors see. Removing a custom field from the form does not erase answers already collected with earlier gifts. Editing a confirmation template does not automatically resend previous confirmation emails. Preview the form and test the revised confirmation content before relying on it for new gifts.
What is not freely changeable just because the campaign is live?
Launching does not lock all settings, but individual features retain their own limits:
- Claimed incentives: An incentive with claims cannot simply be deleted and recreated as though existing selections will transfer. Review its available edit or quantity controls.
- Matches and challenges: Existing offers have their own editing and completion restrictions. Editing campaign content does not reopen or reset a completed offer. Donor incentive selection is not available when making a match or challenge.
- Existing gifts: Changing campaign setup does not by itself change a processed payment or reassign earlier gifts to new funds. Corrections to existing gifts use gift-management workflows.
- Campaign structure: Creating tiered pages is supported; merging an independent campaign and its history into a tier page is a different request and is not a standard tier-editing action.
What should we check before opening early giving?
Confirm the campaign name and links you plan to share, the end date, the giving form’s required fields and designation choices, and the intended tier hierarchy. You can continue improving content and adding funds or pages after launch. After each change, check the affected public page and giving flow; after structural changes, also review links and displayed totals.
