Create segments and distribute volunteer tasks

For the newer Volunteer Management interface. Access and available actions depend on your volunteer or administrator role.

How to use

Build a segment from selected constituents or a supported dynamic filter, provide its name, and review the preview/members. Create a task with the required role/volunteer and segment/template details. Save and use the distribution action when ready. Inspect the resulting task status.

Before you begin

Task distribution checks that the task is a draft, has an assigned role, and a nonempty segment with volunteers. Saving may leave a task in draft if it is not distributable; do not treat save success as proof it reached volunteers.

A task must be archived before deletion. Attempting to archive an already archived task produces a separate error. There is also an authorized complete-for-volunteer action and task export.

Troubleshooting

Check the role, available volunteers, segment membership, and task state. Selected-row segments require at least one constituent. Do not reuse legacy VMS multitask approval instructions in this interface.
