Fee rows versus fee columns

The way donor-covered fees appear depends on the report. A separate fee row does not represent a second payment or a second donor.

• Campaign All Gifts Report: open the campaign's Donations → Download Donation Report → Download All Gifts Report. Coverage appears in a separate Donor-Covered Fees row with no designation and no additional donor count. Its amount contributes to campaign dollars.
• Gift Row Report: the gift total already includes coverage, while donor_covered_payment_fee identifies the coverage component. Another report's Donation Type column does not automatically create a separate fee row. Add the fee column through Online Giving → Reporting → Custom Reports → open the layout → Columns.
• Designation Row Report: each allocation has its own row. An amount above the total designated amount produces a row with a blank designation; coverage can account for that remainder. Other unallocated amounts can also produce a blank row, so compare the actual allocation and fee amounts before identifying it as fee coverage.

Gift-level values can repeat across designation rows. Preserve donation IDs, deduplicate before summing gift-level fees, and do not count the fee both inside a gift total and again as an extra row. For calculations and export steps, see separate a gift from donor-covered payment fees.
