Why a scheduled event email can show an earlier recipient count

For school administrators using GiveCampus Outreach. Controls can differ between the classic email editor and the newer Composer editor.

A scheduled email using dynamic event-registrant segments can show a different count from a newly prepared draft because the audience is recalculated before sending. The send process refreshes dependent dynamic segments and regenerates recipients before send validation. A later registrant can therefore become eligible if they match that audience at send time.

Check that the outreach uses the intended dynamic event segment and event, rather than a one-time CSV snapshot. Review filters, exclusions and recipient state; later registration does not bypass opt-outs, missing email or other eligibility rules. An earlier displayed count alone is not proof that later registrants will be omitted. Conversely, this behavior does not prove that a particular registrant received the email: inspect the final recipient and delivery records for that case.
