Distinguish recurring modification-date reports from subscription history

The legacy administrator recurring-management view includes Subscription History with Edited by, Edit Date and Change. The history combines recorded gift and subscription changes. The newer management page does not render the same panel, so ask support to inspect history if the interface does not show it. Auditing must be available; do not assume a complete record of every historical or external change, or a named actor for every automated/token action.

A Subscription Report filtered by modification date is a current-state report selected by timestamp. It is not an amount-change-only report or an old-versus-new field comparison. The update flow touches records for multiple kinds of changes. Do not assume that the modification timestamp identifies only installment-amount changes. A comprehensive schoolwide change-history export is not available through these report controls.

A canceled subscription with a blank failure reason does not identify who canceled it. The cancellation action permits eligible owners/private-link holders and administrators with modification permission. Inspect available history before attributing a cancellation to the donor; cancellation status alone cannot do so.

Recurring modification-date reports versus original-term changes

Recurring Donation Reports → Subscription Report offers Use Date/time of modification with a date range. That selects subscriptions whose update timestamp falls in the range; it is not an exact filter for donor terms changed from the original gift. Routine subscription updates can affect that timestamp, and the control does not compare original/current amounts, frequency or dates. Use it to narrow a review, then compare the relevant original and current terms or request authorized audit-history review. The modification-date filter does not isolate changes to original subscription terms.
