Segment upload succeeds but Personalizations says Data Upload Required

For school administrators using GiveCampus Outreach. Controls can differ between the classic email editor and the newer Composer editor.

The readiness check looks for nonblank first_name, last_name and preferred_email in the school's imported constituent biographical data. This is separate from uploading a recipient/segment list. Renaming segment CSV headers to the displayed labels does not populate those underlying school records and can break that upload's required format.

Use Upload Additional Data and the school-level importer with the correct mappings, then verify constituent IDs match the segment. This readiness check establishes that each required field exists somewhere in the school's imported data; passing it does not guarantee that every segment member has all values or a matching imported person. Review missing-person/token errors separately before sending. Smart Ask giving-history requirements are a different check.
