Affiliation versus Selected Affiliations in gift exports

The legacy affiliation column comes from the gift’s older assoc value. selected_affiliations contains the newer saved multi-affiliation structure, including affiliation keys and selected values such as class years. They are not two labels guaranteed to contain identical data. Use the field appropriate to the form’s saved affiliation model and inspect older/imported gifts before treating a blank legacy value as no affiliation.
