Upload an exclusion list with the correct headers

For school administrators using GiveCampus Outreach. Controls can differ between the classic email editor and the newer Composer editor.

For the exclusion upload, email Outreach requires a column named exactly email_address; text Outreach requires phone_number. Header comparison trims surrounding whitespace but still expects the correct spelling/case. Ordinary recipient uploads have additional required columns (external_id, first_name, last_name, plus the channel address), so confirm you are in the exclusion upload workflow rather than a recipient upload.

Email exclusions use the normalized address. Text exclusions format phone numbers and skip unusable values. Review the generated exclusions after uploading; a successful file selection does not prove every intended row excluded a recipient. If the reported file is not available, these requirements explain the validation but do not identify which header was wrong in that file.
