Imported affiliation codes and donor-facing personalization

For school administrators using GiveCampus Outreach. Controls can differ between the classic email editor and the newer Composer editor.

Where school-level affiliations are enabled, Dashboard Settings → Affiliations separates Imported Affiliation, Affiliation Category, and Online Giving Affiliation. Category groups imported affiliations for platform display/filtering. Online Giving Affiliation maps them to an online-giving affiliation for personalization; its list links to the school's online-giving affiliation settings.

Choose mappings that accurately describe the constituents. An “Alumni Spouse” code should not automatically become Parent merely to hide an internal label. The person-based mapping uses the linked online-giving affiliation's column name, and the display formatter prefers its public label. Without a matching public label, the formatter can fall back to a humanized stored key. Older autofill records can carry their own uploaded affiliations instead of using the person mapping, so inspect and test existing recipient links after changes; do not assume every old link is retroactively sanitized by one mapping edit.

The current personalized greeting template shows the greeting/name and obfuscated email with “This isn't me”; it does not render the old “Not [name, affiliation, year]” line described in some tickets. Identify the actual template/version before claiming a current display problem or a universal hide-affiliations switch.
