For school administrators using GiveCampus Outreach. Controls can differ between the classic email editor and the newer Composer editor.
Build the alumni audience and review the email outreach’s included and excluded recipients and reasons. Separately identify alumni with no email from the imported constituent data; do not assume every missing-email constituent appears in a usable email-recipient list. Assemble a second segment/list for the intended no-email or email-restricted people, using stable constituent identifiers, and use that audience for a text outreach. Review it to avoid unintentionally sending both messages to the same people. Email and text restrictions are separate. Email solicit-code exclusions use codes that disable outreach; text exclusions use codes that disable texting. Text opt-outs and phone eligibility still apply to the second message. An email exclusion does not grant permission to text someone, and an update-contact-information message does not bypass the configured restrictions. Check the school’s intended contact policy when a code’s meaning is unclear. This is a reviewed two-audience workflow, not a promise that the system automatically converts every email exclusion into a text recipient.
