Permissions for Texting

Texting access is role-based. Partners can assign a predefined administrator role, but cannot change the individual capabilities inside that role. Confirm whether the person is using Online Giving/Outreach texting or Gift Officer texting; these are separate products.

Online Giving and Outreach texting

• View and manage Online Giving Texting (excluding settings): Superadmin, Fundraising Superadmin, Communications Admin, Outreach Superadmin, Outreach Content Manager, Outreach Admin, Outreach Reporting Admin.
• Manage Text Settings: Superadmin, Fundraising Superadmin, Communications Admin, School-Level Settings Admin, Outreach Superadmin, Outreach Admin. Outreach Content Manager and Outreach Reporting Admin do not include Text Settings with those roles alone.
• Send an Outreach message: Superadmin, Fundraising Superadmin, Advanced Campaign Admin, Advanced Form Admin, Communications Admin, Outreach Superadmin, Outreach Admin, Events Superadmin, Events Communication Admin. Sending still requires school texting availability, eligible recipients and access to the relevant campaign/form/event. Outreach Content Manager and Outreach Reporting Admin do not send with those roles alone.

A Superadmin, Fundraising Superadmin, or Outreach Superadmin can use Outreach → Administrators → select the person → Role(s) → Add Another → Update Role(s) to assign an appropriate role. Roles combine, and page assignments still control where the person can work. Use Outreach → Settings → Text Settings for available texting settings, not for administrator-role changes.

Gift Officer texting

Gift Officer calling/texting is included in Gift Officer, GC Gift Officer Student, and Superadmin. Product availability, staff setup and phone-number configuration still apply. Have the staff administrator review the person in Gift Officer → Staff Management; an Outreach role does not automatically grant Gift Officer texting.
