Gift exclusions across multiple email addresses and households

For school administrators using GiveCampus Outreach. Controls can differ between the classic email editor and the newer Composer editor.

The email Outreach Online Gifts recipient filter joins the recipient email to the gift's payer_email, then applies the selected date/project conditions. Giving multiple uploaded email rows the same external ID does not make that email filter exclude every address for that ID. The corresponding text filter uses the external identifier. Person-based segment conditions such as Given to Campaign/Giving Form use linked person/gift records and are a separate selection path.

Neither behavior is a universal household suppression rule. A gift from one parent does not automatically identify another parent's separate record as a donor. Use a reviewed suppression audience based on constituent/household relationships when that is the intended policy, and inspect the actual included/excluded recipients before sending. Do not collapse distinct people into one ID merely to force suppression.
