Email topics and text opt-outs are separate

For school administrators using GiveCampus Outreach. Controls can differ between the classic email editor and the newer Composer editor.

An Outreach email has one selected unsubscribe topic. The editor does not attach several topics to one message. Text suppression instead checks the school's current opted-out phone numbers; it is not governed by the email-topic selector. When someone asks whether “these settings” affect texting, first identify the setting rather than assuming an unseen screenshot is an unsubscribe-topic screen.

To receive text opt-out alerts, enable New Text Message Notifications for the administrator where texting is available. The opt-out process uses this same preference, so it is not an opt-out-only subscription. It sends qualifying alerts when an opt-out has an associated text message and the number has not opted back in. A historic import or missing message association is not guaranteed to generate an alert. Email unsubscribe reporting is separate; this text preference does not confirm email opt-out alerts.
