Sender address domain and receipts

For school administrators using GiveCampus Outreach. Controls can differ between the classic email editor and the newer Composer editor.

Outreach sender display name, sender email, and reply-to are separate fields. A custom sender email must use a valid sending domain configured for that school. The domain check is exact: authenticating a subdomain does not automatically authenticate the parent domain. If the school has no valid sending domain, the product replaces a custom sender address with the platform's Outreach sender. Coordinate the intended domain and its DNS authentication with school IT and support; do not assume a requested domain is already enabled.

Gift receipts do not inherit an Outreach sender address. In the ordinary notification delivery, a school origin address is normally the reply-to while the From uses the platform transactional address and the origin display name. The custom-domain exception shown in this delivery path is for gift-officer notifications, not ordinary gift receipts. Confirm the actual message headers if the school's behavior differs. Examples of other institutions' practices require a separately approved/current source; do not guess them.
