Handling a text unsubscribe request that is not STOP

For school administrators using GiveCampus Outreach. Controls can differ between the classic email editor and the newer Composer editor.

Text opt-out processing recognizes an exact STOP reply after trimming and ignoring case; the word unsubscribe is not equivalent in that workflow. Check the conversation’s opt-out status. Honor the recipient’s request: remove/exclude them from scheduled outreach audiences and ask Support to apply/check the school-number suppression before further sends. Do not assume archiving the conversation suppresses future campaigns or that a displayed unsubscribe reply automatically created the opt-out record.
