How to use
Open Online Giving → Forms (called Giving Forms in older interfaces), select the membership form, then open Giving Experience → Form Settings & Display. In Memberships, use Add Membership type to configure a type and its offered prices; finish with Add type, or Save changes when editing an existing type. Type management includes create, update, archive, and removal actions. Use only the controls appropriate to whether a type should stop being offered or be removed from this form.
In Online Giving → Manage Gifts → Memberships, or the form’s membership gift views, distinguish commitments from payments. Use an individual payment for receipt resend and eligible refunds. In the form’s membership Commitments view, use Send Donor Link to Modify to email the member their private management link, or the eligible Cancel action to stop renewals. Confirm the intended membership and the action prompt.
Rules
Refunding a membership contribution does not cancel the recurring subscription. Stopping future renewals is a separate operation. Staff refund and recurring-cancellation actions are included in Superadmin, Fundraising Superadmin, Gift Management Admin, or Finance Admin. Advanced Form Admin alone does not include these financial actions. These membership refund controls apply to Stripe payments. Ask Support about other providers.
Troubleshooting
A membership can have more than one payment, so identify the exact payment before refunding. Confirm membership ID, payment date, amount, and intended effect. An archived type and a canceled member subscription are not interchangeable.
