Unpair one volunteer's role without using the broad CSV

For the established (legacy) Volunteer Management portal. These steps differ from the newer Volunteer Management interface. Administrator controls require the appropriate school or volunteer-management permissions.

The constituent-only unpair upload previews all active assignments for each listed constituent. Do not assume adding an undocumented volunteer column will narrow it.

For role cleanup, open the intended volunteer's edit screen. When removing a role with assignments, the interface offers Unpair All Assignments for that volunteer and role, or Modify Assignments Individually to reassign/unpair specific records. The role-scoped request includes both volunteer and role; the separate top-level Unpair User's Assignments action removes all of that volunteer's assignments and has a broader scope.

Confirm that the requested subset actually corresponds to the selected role before using its bulk action. Spouse auto-pairing and retained-role reconciliation can affect the result. The handling of assignments retained through another role depends on your school’s enabled features. An arbitrary list of hundreds of assignments that does not match a role requires support to confirm a suitably scoped workflow; do not substitute the broad constituent CSV.
