For the established (legacy) Volunteer Management portal. These steps differ from the newer Volunteer Management interface. Administrator controls require the appropriate school or volunteer-management permissions.
How to use
Open Communication with Volunteers to use Email Volunteers, its email templates, texting where enabled, Announcements, Messages, and Tasks. Keep administrator-to-volunteer messages separate from templates intended for volunteers to contact constituents.
Use Resources for Volunteers to manage resources/categories, constituent-facing email templates, volunteer videos, and video branding. Confidentiality Agreements is a separate administrative area when enabled.
Troubleshooting
For a missing resource or template, check its category, active unit, and role visibility. For a communication issue, first identify whether it was a portal message, announcement, email, text, or task notification. Do not assume publishing an announcement sends an email unless the configured workflow confirms it.
The established portal also exposes multitask review/approval/discard operations. These are not the same as newer task-group distribution, and use the instructions for the interface on your screen.
