A reaction remains in “has not been responded to”

For school administrators using GiveCampus Outreach. Controls can differ between the classic email editor and the newer Composer editor.

The unresponded filter checks whether the latest message is inbound. It is separate from read/unread state, so marking a reaction read does not confirm that it will leave the unresponded list. If no reply is needed, marking the conversation read still differs from responding to it.

Archive is more than a read-status change: the action deletes the provider-side conversation and marks the local conversation archived. Do not use it merely to dismiss a harmless reaction while expecting the same conversation to keep working unchanged. Ask support to inspect an archived conversation whose later messages are missing; do not assume those messages will automatically reappear.
