Fiscal-year date change versus tag cleanup

For the established (legacy) Volunteer Management portal. These steps differ from the newer Volunteer Management interface. Administrator controls require the appropriate school or volunteer-management permissions.

Updating the school fiscal-year start refreshes giving attributes; the process does not delete assignment tags. Legacy assignment tags are linked to assignments and tag definitions, not a fiscal-year field. Separate unpairing, tag deletion or import/removal procedures can affect tags and visibility. If the annual “flip” includes those operations, review its exact steps with the administrator; do not assume changing a date itself clears tags.
