If this is the NXT integration, its gift export reads the school integration acknowledgement setting to populate acknowledgement status; it is not necessarily a tribute checkbox on the giving form. Review the integration setting and actual exported gift payload before changing it. Another CRM or custom mapping can differ, so support needs the integration and affected records to establish the cause.
