Recurring gift mapping requires the NXT System ID

The GiveCampus donation ID and the NXT Recurring Gift System ID serve different purposes. Do not use them interchangeably.

Link an existing NXT recurring gift

In the GiveCampus integration's Missing Recurring Gift ID resolution, enter the existing NXT recurring gift's System ID. Do not enter the GiveCampus donation ID, a gift lookup code, or the System ID of an NXT Pledge.

The integration validates that the NXT record is a RecurringGift and that it is not already associated with another GiveCampus recurring subscription. It uses that NXT identifier to link exported recurring payments to the recurring gift. A row moving to Pending does not confirm completed export.

Where do I add a GiveCampus donation ID to an NXT pledge?

Adding the GiveCampus donation ID to a pledge record does not create the payment-to-pledge relationship. The integration exports that donation ID in the payment's Comment/reference information, prefixed with GC_, for identification and reconciliation. It is not the NXT linking identifier.

The supported recurring-gift mapping described above does not accept an NXT Pledge record. For a gift with a GiveCampus subscription, the export uses RecurringGiftPayment and links to an NXT RecurringGift; a gift without a subscription exports as Donation. Calling a payment a “pledge payment” does not change the integration's gift type or create an NXT pledge association.

Do not instruct customers to paste a GiveCampus donation ID or recurring gift ID into the pledge's initial installment and promise that future payments will automatically link. That is not a supported pledge-linking procedure in this integration.

If the payment needs to be applied to an existing NXT pledge

Ask the customer to confirm the exported payment's gift type (Donation or Recurring Gift Payment), the target record's type (Pledge or Recurring Gift), and whether they are using NXT web view or database view. Have their NXT administrator or Blackbaud Support review the appropriate pledge-payment application workflow for the existing record. Do not assume that adding an ID to a comment or changing a reference field applies the payment, that recurring-gift mapping works for pledges, or that correcting a reference will retroactively link previously exported payments.
