When a bank-payment acknowledgement is generated

The current standard bank-payment path can send the donation acknowledgement when the gift enters Pending Authorization; it does not necessarily wait for bank settlement. The acknowledgement can be generated when that payment state changes. Some legacy microdeposit and Plaid flows use different acknowledgement rules, and payments requiring verification have separate notices. Do not assume one identical immediate email for every bank flow. For a donor who received nothing, inspect the gift’s payment flow/state, payer email and notification/delivery record before concluding it failed or asking them to donate again.
