Understand how recurring gifts count toward campaign totals

For ordinary finite recurring gifts, the campaign counts the parent commitment: 10 per month for twelve payments contributes 120 to the campaign total rather than only the first 10. For indefinite recurring gifts, the parent counted value starts with the installment amount and is updated to the subscription paid total as installments are recorded. The product does not project an unlimited future amount. Campaign totals are consequently different from a cash-deposit report. Cancellation, refunds, currencies and special campaign rules may require separate reconciliation; cancellation alone does not erase the counted parent record.
