Failed versus deleted installment records

This article covers gifts made through GiveCampus. Payment and recurring-gift options depend on the institution and the form.

Failed means the installment payment was unsuccessful. Deleted means its record was marked as deleted/removed from ordinary active handling; it is a separate state from failed, refunded or canceled. A deleted record does not by itself prove a refund or cancellation of future recurring charges. The reason a particular row acquired either status requires its payment history, but the two labels do not mean the same thing.
