Understand the giving-form text field’s single-line display

In GiveCampus giving forms, available controls depend on your permissions and the interface used by your institution.

The giving-form custom Text field renders as a single-line input. The legacy editor's custom field-type list does not include a multiline/paragraph type, and the newer text field also uses a single-line string input. Changing a label or placeholder does not change that input into a larger comment box.

For a post-payment question asking donors for several sentences, ask support to confirm whether the specific form interface supports an alternative. Do not assume a drag-to-resize or Convert to Textarea setting from these controls. A single-line display does not itself mean only the visible words are saved, but field-length limits still apply; the newer text field limits input to 1,024 characters. Other products' long-text fields do not mean availability on a giving form.
