Ordinary gift template triggers and actual payments

In GiveCampus giving forms, available controls depend on your permissions and the interface used by your institution.

Email names are not a safe paid-transaction flag. The ordinary ten-template set works as follows: Gift Receipt follows the one-time contribution notification path; Recurring Gift Set Up confirms establishment and can also precede completed bank verification, so it is not proof of a settled first installment; Recurring Gift Updated is used for successful installment notifications AND subscription edits; Recurring Gift Ended follows the ended state, including normal final-payment completion, and the Updated sender skips an already-ended subscription; Recurring Gift Reactivated follows failed/expired-to-active and is not independent proof of a new payment; Recurring Gift Canceled confirms cancellation; Recurring Gift Failed reports an unsuccessful attempt; Recurring Gift Card Expired reports expiration; Recurring Gift Annual Reminder is before a future annual charge; Incomplete Gift Nudge concerns abandoned checkout. The last five are not successful-payment receipts. On a normal final-payment completion, do not assume an additional Updated receipt accompanies Ended. Default Updated tax content is conditional on saved payment-related changes or a duplicate-receipt request, and custom templates can differ. Verify a successful installment/payment and use institution-approved receipt wording; do not label a status change or total commitment as a newly paid amount. Pledge and membership templates are distinct sets.
