Deleting and recreating a question does not repair its history on a giving form

In GiveCampus giving forms, available controls depend on your permissions and the interface used by your institution.

A donor-facing label and the report column identity are separate. Changing a label does not reclassify responses previously collected for a different purpose. In the removal process, the field and its child fields are deleted directly; existing contribution attributes have their own stored column names and association to the old field.

Do not assume that recreating a field with the same label reconnects or cleans up historical answers, or that deleting it erases every stored answer. Export the affected data and have support review the exact field IDs, stored column names and report query before migration. Use a new appropriately named question for future data only after deciding how existing mixed-purpose responses will be handled.
