Understand event ticket price and fair-market-value locks

Price locked after a free test registration

Ticket price and FMV are locked once non-incomplete, non-preview tickets have been issued. A free or fully discounted registration can still issue such a ticket, so absence of a charge does not make price editable. Use a properly supported replacement ticket configuration or ask support to inspect the test registration and dependencies; do not bypass accounting validation or assume canceling/refunding erases its history.

Price locked after issued tickets

Once non-preview tickets of a type have been issued, that type's price and fair-market value cannot be changed. Create a new paid type for future registrants and hide the old free option where permitted while preserving its issued-ticket history. At least one ticket/package option must remain visible. Existing free registrations are not retroactively charged; arrange their resolution separately.

Price or FMV locked while event is still a draft

The ticket-type settings prevents price/Fair Market Value changes when it has non-incomplete tickets, excluding preview tickets. The package settings checks for non-incomplete package registrations and does not use that same preview exclusion in its guard. The event's draft status itself is not the unlock condition.

Support should inspect the actual ticket/package registrations when this error appears, including preview/reserved records and the exact object being edited. Do not delete an issued registration just to bypass the lock or promise a staff override. For an already-purchased ticket, reconcile receipts, accounting and intended future pricing before choosing a replacement or correction.

Price and FMV cannot be changed once non-incomplete, non-preview tickets have been issued. For future registrations, create replacement ticket choices with the institution-approved values and hide the old choices while preserving existing records. Existing accounting/receipt corrections require separate authorized review; new ticket types do not retroactively change old purchases.
