Create and troubleshoot designation-prefilled links

Use the form's autofill link builder to generate a link with one or more funds already selected.

1. Open the target form from Online Giving → Forms (or open the campaign if its giving form is the destination).
2. Open Tracking & Analytics → Links & Appeal Codes and find Generate Autofill Links. Older interfaces call the page Unique Tracking Links.
3. Select designation to search by name, or designation_id to search by the school's backend identifier. Type a search term and select the fund or funds already offered on that form.
4. Click Insert this field into the URL, then copy the generated URL.
5. Test it in a fresh private browser window and confirm the intended form and selections.

The builder creates the URL parameters automatically; you do not need to type or number them by hand. Multiple selections remain limited by the form's maximum designation count. Preselection neither adds a fund that is unavailable on the form nor restricts donors to only those choices.

If a designation cannot be found

Confirm it is offered on the selected form. Search by name in designation or by backend identifier in designation_id; these are different search modes. Enter a nonblank term and check the maximum allowed selections. An error message differs from an empty search result; share the exact error with Support if needed.

Some editors also offer a GC Links → Autofill Link picker. Use its selected campaign/form and designation controls; a designation-prefilled link is not a new fund page. Do not invent a designation ID or use ordinary designation prefill to fill arbitrary write-in text.
