Checkbox true, false and blank differ on a giving form

In GiveCampus giving forms, available controls depend on your permissions and the interface used by your institution.

The checkbox controls submit true when checked and false when explicitly unchecked. Blank indicates no stored value, not automatically an unchecked answer: the gift may predate the field, use another form/version or lack the relevant completed step. For a name-sharing permission question, only the actual affirmative response establishes the recorded permission; review anomalous blanks against history.

Can I have a custom checkbox checked when a donor opens the form?

Use an autofill link to preselect a custom checkbox. This applies when the donor follows that link; it does not change the default for everyone using the ordinary form URL.

1. Open the campaign or Giving Form in Online Giving.
2. Go to Tracking & Analytics → Links & Appeal Codes (called Unique Tracking Links in the older interface).
3. In Generate Autofill Links, select the custom checkbox field and enter true as its value.
4. Click Insert this field into the URL and copy the generated link.
5. Test the link in a signed-out/private window and confirm the correct checkbox is selected. Leave the field visible so donors can review their choice.

The custom checkbox must be on the pre-payment form to be offered in this tool. Use the field key supplied by the tool rather than guessing it from the question's displayed wording. A custom checkbox does not have a general prechecked-default setting in the standard Form Builder. Donor Covered Fees is a separate built-in option with its own default settings; changing it will not preselect your custom question.
