Requiring affiliation versus requiring its class year for an event

In GiveCampus Events, available controls depend on your permissions and the interface used by your institution.

When the event affiliation field is required, the form requires at least one selected affiliation and a nonempty value for each selected affiliation with dropdown options or a write-in field. There is no separate setting to require the affiliation while making its configured class-year dropdown optional. A required custom question with a Not applicable choice can collect a response, but does not populate the native affiliation year automatically. Test the exact form and do not assume a default dropdown selection verifies a real year.
