Ticket gift designation versus total event revenue

In GiveCampus Events, available controls depend on your assigned administrator role(s), access to the event, and the interface used by your institution.

Ticket Gift Designation is not synonymous with all event revenue. With split ticket designations enabled, Ticket FMV Designation identifies the benefit/non-gift component and Ticket Gift Designation identifies the charitable component; without that feature the event has one ticket designation. These are reporting/CRM fund mappings, not bank deposit account selectors. Finance can define an appropriate designation/backend code for its accounting mapping, but naming it “account” does not route settlement to a different bank. Registration/attendee custom questions collect registrant information; the ticket setup screen does not expose arbitrary extra financial metadata fields. Future support for that setup is a product request and no release date is available.

Can a hidden designation receive ticket revenue?

Yes. A designation being hidden from donor-facing choices does not prevent it from being selected as the event's ticket designation. Open Events → Events → select the event → Edit Event → Ticketing and review Ticket Designation or, where separate mappings are in use, Ticket FMV Designation and Ticket Gift Designation. These fields map ticket revenue to the selected fund; they do not ask the registrant to choose a fund during checkout.

The designation for an optional donation is a separate setting under Edit Event → Gifts. If that event uses Select a single designation for this event, its configured designation is applied to the integrated gift automatically. Do not confuse that option with Allow donors to designate gifts themselves, which presents donor choices.
