Phone answers entered in a Number field for an event

In GiveCampus Events, available controls depend on your permissions and the interface used by your institution.

Check the event field’s Field Type. A Number field renders a numeric/decimal control; it is unsuitable for a formatted telephone string with country prefixes or grouping dashes. Use a Text field for that kind of phone entry. The stored field type cannot be changed after creation, so create a properly configured replacement rather than merely renaming the Number field; preserve existing responses/report columns and test before removing the old field. Support should confirm the actual field and error before replacement, since the description alone does not prove this is the Number-field case.
