Blank suppression-code cells are not a guaranteed removal command

Solicit/suppression codes are associations to people, not simply a text cell overwritten by any blank CSV. In the importer, a blank code does not produce a new code value. Removal depends on the configured post-import deletion workflow, import mode, previous data and eligibility safeguards.

One safeguard can skip deletion when the incoming file is less than half the largest previous eligible processed file; Salesforce imports are excluded from this deletion path. A small affected-record-only upload can therefore fail to remove old codes, and a full import can have much broader scope. Do not upload blanks or replace your full dataset with a small file without checking the configured removal behavior. Have support inspect the actual configuration, prior/current imports and removal preview/path before changing suppression associations. Preserve unrelated codes and consent restrictions.
