Why did a manual progress update not add the challenge dollars?
When manually updating an ordinary challenge to complete it, you must update both its qualifying progress and its Value. Changing Nummatches (sometimes referred to as nummatch) to the successful level alone does not automatically complete the challenge or set the award dollars.
For example, if the qualifying donor progress now meets the challenge threshold and the challenge award is $200, enter the correct total qualifying progress in Nummatches and 200 in Value, then save. If four donors were added to existing progress, use the resulting total progress, not just 4. Value is the challenge award, not the campaign’s total raised. If Value remains $0, the manual progress change alone does not add the $200 award to the campaign total.
This requirement applies to manually editing the challenge’s progress. Normal automatic processing of qualifying gifts is a separate workflow. Changing Nummatches does not create donor gift records or confirm that a payment was collected. For an editable offline challenge, correct both fields on the existing record; do not duplicate the award as another offline gift. Contact Support if Value is locked or the offer requires an online correction.
This article covers GiveCampus campaign administration. Available controls can vary between the classic and redesigned campaign interfaces.
The challenge percentage is calculated from Nummatches divided by Per unit. The ordinary completion check uses value reaching the maximum, relevant payment state, or end time; winner-takes-all completion uses its end time. A percentage alone therefore is not enough to diagnose an inconsistent completion label. Ask support to inspect the offer type, raw progress/threshold, value/maximum, dates and state. Do not adjust gifts merely to force a label or confirm a payment from “100%.”
