Full constituent ID - email export and deceased cleanup

A segment export is not automatically a complete constituent export. The dashboard All tab includes imported and GiveCampus-created records; define that scope and desired external identifier/email fields when requesting a complete export. Deceased status is data distinct from deleting a person; preserve gift history and review source mapping/dependencies before cleanup.

How can I tell whether a constituent is marked deceased?

In Gift Officer, open the constituent's record from your portfolio or the school-wide constituent view available to your role. A record marked deceased displays a Constituent is deceased. warning. The same warning appears on a Gift Officer task for that constituent.

Deceased status is an imported constituent data field. It is separate from solicitation codes, even if your institution also imports a code named Deceased or Do Not Contact. A solicitation restriction and its sending rules are not proof of the actual deceased field's value. Ask your data administrator to check the source record and the imported deceased field if the expected status is missing; do not delete the constituent as a way to mark them deceased.
