Refunding a gift that progressed a running offer

When a gift is refunded, its associated matching credit is queued for removal. For an offer that is not completed, the matching correction subtracts the associated matching value and qualifying progress, updates designation data and removes the association. This is a background update, not a separate refund payment to the matching donor. Completed offers require separate Support review. Do not assume that refunding a donor gift automatically refunds a captured matching payment or reverses an already completed challenge; have support reconcile that actual offer. A partial refund or uncompleted refund request is not documented as equivalent to the refunded-state transition.
