Covered fees in the public campaign total

Donor-covered processing fees are part of the campaign's dollars raised. For a standard USD gift, $250 plus $8 in optional coverage contributes $258 to the campaign total. The fee is part of the same gift, not an additional donor.

The donor's original gift goes to the selected designation(s). The donor-covered portion is separate from those designation allocations in GiveCampus. A designation-filtered leaderboard or tier total therefore should not be assumed to include a proportional share of all covered fees.

To reconcile the campaign total, open the campaign's Donations area and choose Download Donation Report → Download All Gifts Report. In this report, Donor-Covered Fees appears as a separate row with no designation and no extra donor count. Compare the report's Amount Applied to Campaign to campaign dollars; do not count rows as donors or add fees again to a gift total that already includes them.

In a Designation Row Report, coverage can appear in an undesignated remainder row. A blank designation is not always a fee: compare the gift's original allocations and recorded coverage. See fee rows and fee columns.
