How to use
Open Online Giving → Campaigns → select the campaign → Campaign Setup → Pre-Launch Page in the classic campaign interface, supply the required launch date and page header, and complete the offered content. Save and inspect the page’s state/preview. On creation, the date must include year, month, and day and cannot be in the past. Custom content sections require both a header and content.
Troubleshooting
The page’s state update can require additional fields; use the displayed missing-field list. A saved pre-launch page is distinct from a launched fundraising campaign. Do not remove the launch date merely to bypass validation.
Some schools expose a Campaign Backup Form in Online Giving when a general campaign/form exists and the user can view its settings. It has its own form preview, templates, gifts, links, pixels, and statistics.
Can I move a gift from the Campaign Backup Form to my main campaign or Giving Form?
Gift Management Admin, Finance Admin, Fundraising Superadmin and Superadmin can move eligible gifts within their applicable access; Advanced Campaign Admin can also modify campaign gifts. These admins can move eligible gifts from one campaign to another campaign or from one Giving Form to another Giving Form within the same school. A gift cannot be moved from a Giving Form to a campaign, or from a campaign to a Giving Form. This also applies to gifts received through the Campaign Backup Form.
How to move a gift
- Open the Manage Gifts tab.
- Locate the gift and click its donation ID to open the details.
- Use Move to different campaign and select the destination campaign or Giving Form. The option has this name even when moving between Giving Forms.
- Save the change and verify the gift and totals at both destinations.
Reflect a Giving Form gift on a campaign
If a gift was made to a Giving Form, including the Campaign Backup Form, and you want it reflected on a campaign, add an offline gift to that campaign to recognize the donor’s contribution. The gift cannot be moved from the form to the campaign.
The original online gift and payment remain on the Giving Form. The offline entry adds campaign recognition; it does not charge the donor again or transfer the payment. Record the original donation ID in your reconciliation notes and avoid counting the online payment and offline recognition entry as two separate payments in financial reporting.
These steps explain how to reassign or recognize the gift. They do not establish which link or route the donor used to reach the backup form.
Can I launch for early giving and then return the campaign to Draft?
Yes. You can return a launched campaign to Draft, including one launched to enable early giving on its Pre-Launch Page. While the campaign is in Draft, donors cannot access the campaign or make new gifts to it. You must relaunch it before it can accept new donations again.
Early giving requires both a launched campaign and the early-giving option on the Pre-Launch Page. Leaving that option selected does not allow giving while the campaign is in Draft. Launching the underlying campaign and choosing to display its Pre-Launch Page are separate settings.
- Open Online Giving → Campaigns and select the campaign.
- Open its settings. One place to find the campaign action buttons is Giving Experience → Form Settings & Display → Form Settings.
- Click Back to Draft in the action area at the top right.
- Confirm the prompt to take the campaign offline. It warns that the campaign will not be visible to donors and will not accept new donations until relaunched.
- Check for the confirmation that the campaign has been sent back to Draft. Check donor access in a signed-out/private browser window; your administrator preview is not the donor experience.
Superadmin, Fundraising Superadmin, Advanced Campaign Admin, and Crowdfunding Admin include launching campaigns and sending them back to Draft, within their assigned campaign access. Basic Campaign Admin does not include those actions. Ask an administrator with one of the listed roles to make the change; partners assign roles rather than toggling a separate permission within a role.
If Back to Draft is disabled because the campaign is the school's Make a Gift redirect target or Campaign Backup Form, that assignment must be changed first. Review the displayed warning and have an authorized administrator or Support help with the assignment. Do not use a different URL to bypass the restriction.
To accept new gifts again, review the campaign dates and settings, use Launch Campaign, and confirm. Review the Pre-Launch Page early-giving option before sharing it. Returning to Draft does not refund gifts or retract messages already sent.
