How to use
Open the personal advocate page’s edit action, customize the permitted content, and use Publish when the page is ready. Use Unpublish to return it to draft, or Archive to archive the page. Share the published advocate-page link.
Rules
The advocate can manage their own eligible page. Staff management is included in Superadmin, Fundraising Superadmin, Advanced Campaign Admin, Basic Campaign Admin, and Crowdfunding Admin, with access to the campaign. The page must also be configured and advocate pages enabled. Partners assign a predefined role and campaign/group access rather than an individual page-editing permission. Owners and authorized campaign administrators can preview draft, published, or archived pages while the feature is enabled. Other visitors need a publicly visible page.
Unpublishing returns the page to draft. Owner/admin preview access does not demonstrate that the public can view it. Some nonpublic visits prompt sign-in so an owner can authenticate; other visitors are redirected to the campaign.
Troubleshooting
If Publish fails, check page eligibility and configuration with the school. An error saying the advocate needs an account must be handled through the supported account/advocate setup flow. Do not expose another advocate’s edit link or change IDs in a URL to troubleshoot ownership.
Why does an advocate page still show the old campaign image?
The editable image on a personal advocate page is saved as part of that page when it is created. Updating the campaign's image later does not replace that saved image on existing advocate pages. Depending on what was available when the page was created, its starting image can come from the advocate's profile image or the campaign image.
As an administrator, open Online Giving → Campaigns → select the campaign → Advocacy, find the advocate's row and select Edit for their page. The advocate can instead open their own page while signed in and select Manage Your Page. In the editor, select the image area and open Image to upload or replace the image. Wait for the editor's save to complete, then preview the page. Repeat for each existing advocate page that needs the replacement; changing the campaign image is not a bulk replacement action for these saved page images.
This applies to the editable image block on the advocate page. The page's campaign-branded background is separate and can follow the campaign's current background styling.
Image uploads in the personal advocate page builder
Open the page builder using the administrator Edit action or the advocate's Manage Your Page action described above, then select the image you want to replace. Its image upload accepts PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP and AVIF, up to 10 MB per file. SVG is not accepted. Preview the saved image in the page before publishing.
These limits apply to image uploads in the personal advocate page builder. Your GiveCampus account profile photo, a campaign's main image and a video upload use different controls. If the upload still fails, tell Support which editor you are using and the file type, size and exact error. Do not assume that resizing a video thumbnail will fix an account-profile photo problem.
