Understand auction enablement and visibility controls

This article covers GiveCampus Auctions. Managing the auction and its items is included in Superadmin, Events Superadmin, Advanced Events Admin, or Basic Events Admin, with access to the relevant event and school Auctions availability. Partners assign a predefined role and event/group access; they do not add individual auction permissions inside a role.

The event's Auctions capability cannot be switched off while the event has a non-draft auction. Auction settings have a separate enabled/publication transition: a scheduled or preview auction can return to draft, while a running auction cannot simply be disabled. Pausing or closing is not the same as making a catalog private. Ordinary draft auctions are excluded from public view, but live/paddle-raise types have distinct visibility rules. Identify the auction type, state and exact control before promising it will be hidden; support should review an already-running or specialized auction rather than deleting items or changing payment history to conceal it.
