Add advocates in the redesigned campaign experience

This article covers GiveCampus campaign advocacy. Available controls depend on the campaign interface and enabled advocacy features.

Open the campaign's Advocacy area and choose Add Advocates. Choose Start from an Existing Segment, Upload List of Advocates, or Add a Single New Advocate, then complete that form. Add Smart Segment Advocates is available only when the generated segment is ready. The interface says segment/upload link generation can take up to 15 minutes. Verify the completed campaign-specific advocate links before distributing them, then use the campaign advocacy area to review activity. Legacy interfaces can differ; adding a school list alone does not certify its association with this campaign.

Uploaded school advocate links do not require initial login for attribution

School advocate creation finds an existing user or creates a guest user and associates the campaign advocate with it. The unique sharing link carries that user's attribution, so individual sharing impact can be tracked before the supporter creates a login account. Personal account management and other actions can still require sign-in/opt-in. Confirm that the supplied link belongs to the uploaded advocate rather than the generic community advocate before distributing it.

Uploaded advocates need signup for attribution

A successful school advocate upload creates or associates the person’s user and campaign advocate record, including a guest user when needed. Share each person’s own campaign advocate link to track that individual; they do not first need a full registered account merely for link attribution. The generic Community Advocate link is different. Signup/sign-in remains relevant for personally managing account/dashboard actions. Verify the exported link belongs to the intended person and campaign before sending.
