An already-paid gift was intended to fund a match

This article covers GiveCampus campaign administration. Available controls can vary between the classic and redesigned campaign interfaces.

Do not create a second offline match on the assumption that it automatically reuses or offsets an existing card gift. The offline-match form creates a new contribution; it does not select an existing payment as funding. The ordinary donation editor exposes donor details, anonymity, designations and eligible campaign moves, but does not expose a supported conversion from an ordinary paid gift into a matching offer. Moving a gift to another campaign is not that conversion.

Contact Support with the original gift ID, campaign, intended matching amount and eligibility restrictions. Support must reconcile the captured payment and campaign counting before advising a correction. Do not charge the donor again or promise a refund-and-reentry solution without resolving the payment and authorization details. The customer controls do not provide this conversion. Ask Support to review available options for the actual gift.
