Administrator access has two parts: predefined roles determine what a person can do, and campaign, form, event or group access determines where those actions apply. Partners assign or remove roles; they cannot change the individual permissions within a role. The Permissions tab on a role is a read-only description, not a collection of settings to enable.
Review or change access
- A Fundraising Superadmin or Superadmin opens Online Giving → Administrators → select the person. In the consolidated interface, School Dashboard → Administrators also opens the administrator detail. Events roles are managed by an Events Superadmin or Superadmin.
- Under Role(s), review Current User Roles. Use Add / Add Another, select the required role, and click Update Role(s). To remove an unwanted existing role, use its remove control and confirm. Adding a narrower role does not remove a broader role’s access.
- Review the relevant Campaign Access, Giving Forms Access, or Events Access section. Check individual assignments and groups. All Campaigns, All Giving Forms, and All Events provide broad record access; they do not add every action to the person’s roles.
- To add an individual campaign, use Campaign Access → Individual Campaigns → Add, select the campaign and click Add Access. Group dialogs use Update Access. For a tier page, use Tiered Landing Page Access → Individual Tiered Landing Pages → Add / Add More to open Add Tiered Landing Page Access, select the campaign and intended tier, then Add Access. Review the saved list.
- Have the administrator sign in using the intended account and confirm the relevant record and action are available.
To compare roles, open School Dashboard → Administrators → Roles in the consolidated interface, or Online Giving → Administrators → Roles in the older interface. Select a role and expand the capability sections. Choose the role that includes the required task; do not instruct partners to toggle one listed permission. Some roles include school-wide reports, so individual campaign/form selections do not limit every capability. Fundraising Superadmin includes all campaigns and Giving Forms; Events Superadmin includes all events.
Common role distinctions
- Basic Tiered Landing Page Admin edits assigned tiers and requests publication; it cannot post updates, publish tiers or download their reports. Tiered Landing Page Admin includes those actions on assigned tiers.
- Basic Campaign Admin can edit campaign content and post updates but cannot launch the main campaign or use its Form Builder. Advanced Campaign Admin adds those capabilities.
- Basic Form Admin can edit Giving Form settings but cannot use Form Builder or launch forms. Advanced Form Admin adds those capabilities.
- Reporting Admin includes school-wide donation reports and some sending actions such as resending receipts. It is not a strict single-form or completely read-only role.
Invite an administrator
From Administrators, choose Add Administrator, enter the staff member’s email and complete the role/access prompts. Use Resend Invite for an unregistered administrator when needed.
Notification subscriptions and controls such as Online Giving → Administrators → Notifications → GC Connect Access remain separate settings. Changing a role does not replace these controls. Volunteer roles and their configurable notification settings are a separate workflow from these predefined Online Giving administrator roles.
If the correct school, account, role and record access are present but an action remains unavailable, contact Support with the page and error. Do not grant Superadmin solely to troubleshoot a missing button.
